Review 2008 Colors for the Valco Baby TriMode Stroller at CarlaPie.

We are happy to announce new 2008 colors for the Valco Baby Tri Mode Stroller. The Valco team paid us a visit and provided us with this exciting new as well as additional products that the company is offering, including a new snack tray !! Other news is to follow shortly including new models in addition to the Trimode, so stay tuned !!

We have already started to receive some of the new colors for the Single Tri Mode strollers. The newest color is Stone (see picture to the left), Brilliant Black and Scarlett, and SE Grape. In addition, there will be two more colors, Plum and Pistachio, arriving by April/May. Maternity and Baby Boutique Shopping at CarlaPie.com in Danville, CA

Well it has been awhile since I last blogged. The retail season, November-December was overwhelming, that is a good thing.

So THANK YOU all you GREAT Customers both locally and internationally, we really appreciate your business !!


Both the website and store had a lot of traffic. Our employees are great, up to speed and everything seems to be clicking.

In February my husband and I took a free weekend and went to the SF Gift Show and checked out all the latest items for 2007. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get to the magic show in Vegas this year (a really big clothing show). The SF Show really got us both excited as we are now ready to move to the next phase of implementing our business plan, one of the items being the launch of our new website at carlapie.com. It has been in the works for awhile but finally, well almost, completed. The site will be easier to navigate as well as offer a few services we have not previously offered such as a baby gift registry, product suggestion and product reviews. Access to our site will also be available in the store as we really don't have room to carry everything in the store, more styles, colors, baby and kids furniture. There are a lot things that we will be doing, if we can only find the time.

Coming up this year we are listening to our customers, providing more maternity wear and more boys clothing.

We are thinking about making the blog more product focused, talk about new designer brands to keep you all informed. Would love to hear from you for your input.

It has been great and we'll probably expand our location soon. Although my two young girls are busy with ballet, soccer, girl scouts, etc...a lot more work than we both expected, but we really are having lots of fun..

We just received a lot of our Spring lines including Kate Mack, Swimsuits and many other children and baby designer brands.

OPEN Finally !!

We finally opened the bricks and mortar store for business on October 2nd, after being on-line only since 2001. I'll tell you it was a tough September..with the kids back to school, sports and trying to get all the last minute details addressed, I should have been sent off to the looney bin !!

While this is all happening, we still are expanding our on-line business, it is going really well, however b/c of everything happening, I have fallen behind on a few things. So if you are a customer reading this, I AM SO Sorry !! It will get better.

We ended up hiring 4 employees, we are very fortunate to have found these great ladies. They have been learning the ropes quickly and have been helping me to off load a lot of the day to day work as well as customer service.

Opening the store was probably one of the best ideas I have had in a long time. i am really enjoying the opportunity to get out of the house and mingle with our customers. they have also given me some more ideas on brands, gifts to carry and suprisingly there have been questions about whether to carry more boys items..may be we will do this soon, the demand is there. the response to the store has been great, although we still have a few details to fix before our grand opening late November.December..

Our Diaper Bag display with over 15 brands looks GREAT !! It really shows of the Fleurville Diaper Bags, Timi and Leslie Diaper Bags, Caden Lane, OiOi and all the other brands. I am not sure if there are any other stores here in the San Francisco Bay Area that can say they carry all these brands under one roof.

Our Holiday Dresses from Biscotti are already a hit, they are flying off the shelves !!

In the next few weeks, I need to go to market to buy for the Spring, can you believe it is around the corner. I am hoping to order more Little Mass, Greggy Girl, Sara Sara, Baby Nay, Kate Mack, Cach Cach and LipStik..

Well I finally am caught up with the cool people. started my own blog !! Can you believe it ?

I have been meaning to set this up for sometime now but have been real busy with setting up the new store in Danville, CA, we hope to open mid sept 2006.

I have been running our baby and children's online boutique, http://www.carlapie.com for the last 5 years. We sell boutique brand diaper bags from Fleurville, Timi Leslie , Sally Spicer and 15 other diaper bag brands, custom photo purses, childrens clothing from Little Mass, Greggy Girl, LipStik, Sara Sara and baby gifts, strollers and blankets as well as some maternity clothing.

Anyway we realized finally that we really need to move the operation out of our garage. Most of the work has been done by me, some help from my husband and an occasional friend or two (although we hired some PT people in early Jan that really help to relieve some of the crunch).
Our 3 car garage was taken over and a few rooms in the house. My husband has been patient long enough as the business has slowly taken over the house. He is happy that we are doing well with the business but most of all to get all the stuff out of the house !!

We found a great spot in the Village Shopping Center in Downtown Danville, downstair from the trendy hair salon Tribez for a reasonable price. We moved in August 1st, we have been busy painting, buying furniture, fixtures and just setting up the store in general. Our target start date was September 1, but given that school is starting and last minute changes to the store it is now looking like mid-sept...I can't wait !!

We are in the process of hiring a few people to help out with the store as well. Interviewed a few people today that look promising, need to make some decisions soon though..

Well I think that is the most I can write at this point, nice long weekend ahead, unfortunately spend most of it at the store..the price to pay for having fun with your business !!

Not sure which direction this blog will go but if feels good to write a few things down as a history of sorts. If people read this maybe they will be entertained or maybe sympathize with my crazy life with two young girls, FT + job and the FT taxi service/shuttle that most of us moms try to balance with "me time"..beleive me you're not alone !!
